Greater Good Science Center: Three Steps to Finding Agreement on America’s Toughest Problems

In a July 22, op-ed, Convergence leaders and authors of From Conflict to Convergence: Coming Together to Solve Tough Problems, Rob Fersh and Mariah Levison outline stories and insights on how Americans can solve problems together better across differences. They offer practical applications and share an example of seemingly impossible allies and friends formed through the Convergence process. Fersh and Levison also highlight the drive to write their book noting that,

“We wrote our book because we have seen that the approach we recommend can create meaningful breakthroughs on tough issues…We hope you’ll see that together we can create a culture of collaboration that serves as an antidote to the all-too-common belief that we can’t come up with solutions that will work for everyone. We need not respond to conflict with the reflexive instinct that we might as well fight or withdraw and retreat into our respective camps. We can work together.”
