The Hill: A polarized family policy is the last thing America needs

In an August 13 The Hill op-ed, Joe Waters, a participant in the Convergence Collaborative on Supports for Working Families, and his colleague, Elliot Haspel, remind us: Americans can work across divides and find cross-partisan solutions to challenges. In the piece, they note that:

“We have a chance to forge a cross-partisan consensus. We were recently part of the Convergence Collaborative on Supports for Working Families, which brought together thinkers from across the political spectrum and produced a report exploring opportunities for collaborative action to bolster families.”

The Blueprint for Action drafted by the Collaborative included cross-partisan solutions that the left, right, and everyone in between could get behind. It is possible to solve problems across differences and come to a consensus on even the toughest issues.
