Ed Goeas served as President and C.E.O. of The Tarrance Group, one of the most respected and successful Republican survey research and strategy teams in American politics for thirty-five years before retiring from the firm in December of 2022. Following the 2022 election, The Tarrance Group served as the pollster for thirty-eight current Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, twelve U.S. Senators, and five Governors. Over the last thirty-five years, the team at The Tarrance Group has elected hundreds of U.S. Senators and Members of Congress, numerous Governors, and countless statewide officeholders, State Senators, and State Representatives.

In recognition of the number of winning campaigns conducted by The Tarrance Group, Ed was honored as “1994 Pollster of the Year.” In later years, Ed and his partners Brian Tringali and Dave Sackett were honored as “2010 Republican Pollster of the Year” and “2014 Republican Pollster of the Year” by the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC).

Ed is also widely recognized as one of the country’s leading political strategists. Ed has done extensive survey research on Health Care, Criminal Justice Reform, Immigration Reform, Education, Young Voters or Youth, and Populism over the years. He was Program Director for the 2008 Republican National Convention for Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign. On the Board of Directors for the American Association of Political Consultants for twenty-five years, he was the longest-serving member of the Board, focusing his efforts on Campaign Ethics and promoting increased youth participation in the industry.

In addition to his campaign work, Goeas works in partnership with Democratic pollster Celinda Lake on the nationally recognized “Georgetown University Institute of Politics and Public Service Battleground Poll,” one of the country’s most respected national political research programs. In 2011, Lake and Goeas were awarded the “Distinguished Service to the Profession Award” for their body of work on the Battleground Poll for over twenty years. In early December Goeas and Lake released a book entitled “A Question of Respect; Bringing us together in a Deeply Divided Nation.” “A Question of Respect” made the Best Sellers list for the Wall Street Journal just three weeks after being released and made the Oklahoma Best Sellers list a week later.

Rounding up his career in April of 2023, Ed Goeas was inducted into the American Association of Political Consultants “Hall of Fame” citing his reputation for running positive campaigns and in the two years has been traveling to universities across the nation promoting civility and advocating a “Respect Movement” within our Nation’s youth.

Ed has been married to Lisa Goeas for twenty-seven years and have three children: Emma (25), Robert (21), and Bennett (16). They live in Alexandria, Virginia along with their Golden Doodle Apollo (8) and have a second home in Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina.
