Programs Director

Gabriel Herrera is the Programs Director at Convergence Center for Policy Resolution. Before joining Convergence, he worked as the Assistant Director of Programs – Mediation Services at the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago, where he led a team of programs managers and mediators handling thousands of interpersonal disputes each year in English and Spanish. Passionate about developing the next generation of conflict resolution practitioners, he teaches and mentors graduate students in Roosevelt University’s Master’s in Conflict and Mediation program.

Gabriel holds a B.S. in Communication, with concentrations in Non-Profit Public Relations and Spanish from Boston University, and an M.S. from George Mason University’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution. With nearly a decade of hands-on experience, he excels at engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds to navigate complex issues. He firmly believes in the transformative power of dialogue to foster mutual understanding and develop lasting solutions.

Outside of work, Gabriel enjoys traveling, fostering retired greyhounds, and cycling along Lake Michigan in Chicago (when it’s warm enough).
