Nicklas Stein joined Convergence in May 2026 as a Programs Associate. He holds a BA in Global Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. During his time at Illinois, Nicklas was active in the campus chapter of Amnesty International, where he supported advocacy and outreach efforts focused on human rights issues.
Prior to joining Convergence, Nicklas worked with the Democracy Program at The Carter Center, where he supported a program designed to strengthen participatory rights in Zambia. He also served as a nonpartisan election observer in the 2024 U.S. elections, and co-led a national research initiative examining public perceptions of election observers. In his free time, Nicklas enjoys playing and watching soccer.
