In a February 26th press conference, a politically diverse group of gun rights and gun violence prevention advocates, the Bridge the Divide on Firearm Policy coalition, announced a new policy framework aimed at reducing gun deaths and building safer communities. Introducing the framework, Project Lead Michael Siegel mentioned prior cross-partisan initiatives on the issue, citing the Convergence Dialogue on Guns and Suicide Prevention. Participant of the Convergence Dialogue and member of  Bridge the Divide on Firearm Policy, Rob Pincus, spoke at the press conference. The new policy framework included firearm suicide prevention as part of the initiative.
